New type of 'Impact Factor'

SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a free website which generates impact factors for journals covered by the Scopus database. The date coverage is 1996 onwards. Scopus covers a wider range of humanities and social science journals than many databases, so there may be different content to Journal Citation Reports:

“The SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a portal that includes the journals and country scientific indicators developed from the information contained in the Scopus® database (Elsevier B.V.). These indicators can be used to assess and analyze scientific domains.”

There are journal and country indicators. You can also compare countries and regions. The Help section highlights different features & indicators e.g. H-index.

Journal Citation Reports

Journal Citation Reports has just been updated, providing journal impact factors up until and including to 2006. You can search JCR to assess to what extent a periodical is cited across a range of journal literature.
