Opus arrives! Increase the visibility of your research!

Opus, the University's repository, was launched today. Set up in large part by Kara Jones, the Research Publications Librarian, Opus is an online store which enables full-text papers and data to be both preserved and show-cased. It offers great potential in helping increase citation rates. Furthermore, it enables University of Bath researchers to release their papers publicly, as often required by funding bodies. • It's often permissible to make pre-published / peer-accepted versions available in a repository. However, sources of copyright ownership and publishing agreements do vary: help with copyright.

UK PubMed Central Goes Live!

UK PubMed Central is now live! UKPMC is an open-access archive of freely available, peer-reviewed articles. It provides an opportunity for UK academics to submit their own research for potential inclusion. It also mirrors the contents of the US archive.

"The Wellcome Trust requires electronic copies of any research papers that have been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, and are supported in whole or in part by Wellcome Trust funding, to be deposited into PubMed Central (PMC) or UK PMC once established, to be made freely available as soon as possible and in any event within six months of the journal publisher's official date of final publication"

Academics can submit work through the UK Manuscript Submission Service (UKMSS)
