Research Postgraduates: Sign Up for Information Skills Training!

Postgraduate researchers: you may be aware that you're expected to undertake at least 10 days of skills development activities each year? The Library can help you achieve this!

The Library is running a number of research/information skills sessions from January 16th onwards. These are specifically designed for your research needs. Topics include:

Literature searching for sport & exercise science (covering various databases)
Literature searching in health & pharmacy
Keeping up to date
Searching for statistics

Using Web of Knowledge
Referencing, avoiding plagiarism
and copyright
Developing your career
Archiving your research in the University's repository


To sign up and for further information including dates, please visit Information Skills training. All sessions will take place between 10:15 to 11.45 am. Details about locations will be emailed.

Postgraduates: honing your research skills?

As a research postgraduate, did you know that you are expected to undertake at least 10 days of skills development activities each year?

The library has contributed a number of research and information skills sessions to the PGSkills programme of training events. Topics include how to keep current, searching for literature & statisitics, Web of Knowledge, sport science databases, referencing, avoiding plagiarism & copyright infringement, career information and archiving your research in the University's repository.

For information about dates, specific topics, and bookings, please visit the Postgraduate skills training page. All library sessions will take place in the Library Level 5 West training room from 10:15 to 11.45 am. The room overlooks the Parade on the top floor of the Library.
